This module provides specialised skills training relevant to support workers delivering safe, ethical, and person-centred care, with a focus on maintaining food safety standards and building confidence in kitchen environments.

Course Content
Topic 1: Basic principles of food hygiene and safe storage
Topic 2: Preventing cross-contamination and managing allergies
Topic 3: Kitchen safety — equipment, heat sources, and preventing accidents
Topic 4: Encouraging client involvement while maintaining safety

Duration: Approximately 1 hour (self-paced)
Target Audience: Support workers, AHAs, carers, educators, and others in disability support
